Job Description

A Dental X-Ray Technician performs patient preparation and positioning, selects exposure parameters, places sensors/film for periapical, bitewing, occlusal and panoramic images, applies PPE and asepsis, protects patients and staff from unnecessary radiation, evaluates images and retakes as needed, and documents in the EHR.

Qualifications (choose one)
  • Graduate of a dental assisting or dental radiography program; or
  • Trained on the job by an accredited dental practice or dental facility; or
  • Experience: 3 months verifiable dental radiography experience.

Local/state authorization may be required for radiographic duties. All candidates must meet age, ID, and conduct requirements per the NHWCA Candidate Handbook.
